About Sigmund

Adoption Fee: $300
Dachshund
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Sigmund 1 year old long haired dachshund; 15 lbs; great with all dogs; fine with cats; good with people after he knows them We sure do love our darling doxie boy, Sigmund! He gives the best kisses! He starts out really shy (he came from a puppy mill so didn't have a lot of socialization); it can take him a day or so to warm up. But then he is 'cuddle baby' personified! He's very mischievous and likes to do zoomies around the houses when he is happy. He definitely needs another confident dog in his new home to help him know that people are safe; without another dog, Sigmund becomes even more withdrawn & scared. He would be even happier if his new canine sibling would play with him! He doesn't quite know yet how to play tug of war with toys but he's always up for a game of chase around the yard! He's amazingly fast for having such short little legs. Siggy is doing very well on his potty training & crate training; he still has an occasional accident but he's close to being perfect! But then we think he's perfect, no matter what! Sigmund is also quite handsome! He is mostly black with just a bit of tan; he's got dark button eyes that gling with a hint of mischief, and his coat is so silky that you'll want to just keep running your fingers through it. Because of Sigmund's initial anxiety with strangers, he would do best in a home with infrequent visitors and no children under 12 years old. His original owners had 4 kids between the ages of 2 years old & 11 years old and it was definitely too much for him to handle. He was never aggressive but was terrified constantly. If you think Sigmund would be a good fit for you, an application can be found on waldosmuttleycrew.org. His adoption fee is $300; he is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations & monthly heartworm/flea preventative.
