About Pip

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Pip is a 2 year old Chihuahua that came to Fuzzy Pawz from a local shelter where she ended up as part of a hoarding situation. This girl was so tiny (just over 4 pounds) the shelter knew she needed a home environment to help her put on some weight so she could be spayed; we happily took her in. Now she is healthy, happy and ready to find a home to call her own! Even given her past, Pip is a VERY happy and well-adjusted dog. She can be a little shy, but that is to be expected of many small dogs especially one with her background. This girl had very little socialization and understanding about 'real life' but she has thrived in her foster home, and loves just being able to be a dog. She's learned how to walk on a leash, her house training is coming along nicely, and she's able to understand basic commands like 'sit' and 'come'. All of this needs continual work, but we are amazed at how easy this little girl is! Pip can be a little shy and timid, but with encouragement she powers through and tries new things. This is no 'purse dog'. However, she does love to cuddle and is very affectionate. She gets along great with dogs and cats of all sizes, and seems to not be afraid of any four legged creatures. For this reason she should always be closely supervised when making new friends. Pip is medium energy and would do best in a home with other pets and activity. Daily walks would help socialize her and understand her world that she's still learning about. Pip is smart and eager to please; she'd love to attend a puppy class. She LOVES running around outside in her yard, following around her foster siblings, soaking up the sun, and just being a normal dog.
