This handsome little guy is Maxx. Our dogs often come to us from difficult backgrounds but sometimes we are just left shaking our heads in disbelief when we hear the details. Maxx is a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier mix and weighs about 21 pounds, which is a bit bigger than we usually take in but we just couldn't say no to this sweet boy. He was found abandoned in a dog park, his leash hung neatly on the fence. Just left behind like an old shoe. He wears a heart shape tag that has his name on one side and on the other it says 'Storms Scare Me'. He wasn't chipped and there was no other information on his tag. He is obviously cared for but nobody has come forward to claim him. He is up to date on shots, neutered and is under treatment for being Heart Worm positive. Maybe that's why he was left behind but treatment is straightforward and easy when caught early. Our rescue will continue to pay for his heart worm tests until his last one comes back negative. His new family would need to agree to continue his treatment. Maxx has not been tested with cats but he gets along well with other dogs. He has not been tested with kids but his temperament indicates he would be fine with them. Maxx is a good boy. He has good house manners, he sits on command and he waits patiently for treats. He is also obviously used to sleeping next to his owner. Even abandoned and away from all he has ever known, he is still such a good boy. We can't even imagine how confused he must be. Is your heart big enough to take this sweet baby home?
