About Kelsey

Say hello to beautiful Kelsey! She is a Schnauzer mix who is 4 years old and weighs about 11 pounds. Kelsey came to us from a hoarding situation. She is enjoying playing with her foster mom's dog. She has not been tested with cats. Kelsey is startled by loud noises or sudden quick movements and is still a bit timid. For this reason we feel a home with small children would not be suitable for her. She has not been tested with any children at as of yet. We would like to see Kelsey go to a home with at least one other dog with which she can gain confidence from. Since she really loves to chase squirrels and birds, we prefer she go to a home with a fenced yard where she can run freely. She's got a lot of time to make up for. Kelsey is heart worm negative and is microchipped. She is working on her housebreaking skills and uses pee pads most of the time. We believe in time, with proper training and consistency, she will sharpen her skills. Kelsey really enjoys sleeping in bed with her foster mom and now enjoys the comforts of home and being a beloved family member. Based on Kelsey's previous life, we do not want to see her go to a home that would crate her with a closed door. She's enjoying her freedom now and we want her new world to continue to grow and get bigger and better. Kelsey seems to be more playful in the beginning of the day and more affectionate at the end of the day. She does enjoy sitting with her foster mom for cuddles and love, and enjoys being petted. She wants you to know she loves to play with socks too! Kelsey is waiting for her new forever family to come and take her home to begin her new life and live happily ever after.
