About Jimi

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

When a New Rattitude volunteer first encountered him at the shelter, Jimi was so eager to find someone to love that he would grab onto whoever was holding him, not wanting to let go. Now in his foster home, Jimi is thriving and packing a heap of handsome into a small package! He's an easy-going 7-month-old Rat Terrier mix with a bark that suggests some hound heritage. But whatever his ancestry, Jimi is 13 lbs. of puppy pep balanced with canine cuddliness. He loves other dogs and loves wrestling with them and running zoomies around them in the house and yard. His older canine foster siblings are mentoring him, showing him doggy delights like playing with toys and chasing lizards and squirrels. (While he hasn't been with cats, he would likely see a cat as a playmate too.) When his battery runs low, Jimi also enjoys quiet snuggling time with his humans. In fact, he sleeps all through the night right in bed with them. He's not fond of a crate, but his foster parents are working with him to make the crate a fun place to be or at least a good place to escape to when some quiet time is needed. Being a puppy, he does get crated when they need to go out, but when someone's home, he's already mostly house-trained, with only the very occasional accident. Jimi's at that stage when young dogs can be wary of new people, and he'll bark if they come to visit. Given time and space, though, he's ready to be petted and give them kisses and snuggles. (He has not yet been around any kids, however.) Jimi is beginning to work on some basic commands and leash training, which he doesn't mind one bit. Occasionally his puppy brain takes over and tells him to chew on something he shouldn't, but he's easily redirected and listens well. He just wants to be a good boy and have someone to settle in with and love unconditionally.
