The courage to face your fears is a quality possessed of few humans, let alone dogs. For Sylvia, it is one of her defining features. Sylvia came into rescue after spending her first four years in a puppy mill, and everything new was frightening at first. But Sylvia was undeterred; her fears would not hold her back from experiencing all the love and joy her new world has to offer. Her approach to life is inspiring because, despite her initial timidity, she always finds the courage to open herself up to new experiences. Sylvia has found that snuggling with humans is among her favorite activities, along with playing with toys and wrestling with her canine friends. She is getting the hang of exploring the outside world on leash, and although it's a little scary, her fear doesn't stop her from enjoying walks in a quiet neighborhood. At 14 lbs., her small body is sturdily built and generally healthy, though she has some genetic hair loss. Sylvia isn't bothered by her bald spots, though, and everyone who sees her thinks she is even cuter because of them. She is reliably house-trained and crate trained, though she is trustworthy enough to be left alone uncrated. Car travel is not her favorite activity, but in true Sylvia form, she endures it with only slight unease. Sylvia would love to share her home with a canine companion of any size or shape, as she finds support in other dogs. As beautifully unique as she is inspirational, Sylvia is an amazing creature of love, grace, and good humor.
