About Molly

Pekingese
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

We want you to meet this poor senior baby. Her name is Molly. She came into us as an 'owner surrender'. We had no idea she was coming until she was brought in the door. The person who brought her in gave us her name and said she is about 11 or 12 years old. Getting any information was like pulling teeth. The best we can make out - her owner died. The person who lived with the owner took her. That person then got thrown in prison and the dog then went to that person's mom and she 'didn't want the dog' and therefore brought her to us. Thank God she did - this poor girl came into us in a tiny crate - covered in poop and vomit from riding in a hot vehicle with no air circulation in the kennel. She imediately went from that filthy crate into the bath - just giving her a bath and then some love made her feel better. At the end of her bath and brush out she was willing to give kisses to Cheryl - her way of saying thank you for saving me. Needless to say - we have absolutely no vetting information on her and no way to get it so we will have to start from scratch giving her shots, heartworm check, and hopefully figure out if she has already been spayed. In addition she needs to have something done with her teeth - it appears as if they have never been cleaned and desperately need some work. Of course the thought of anesthesia for a dog her age is never good but we have to do what is necessary. Just a suggestion to everyone who has pets - do a write-up on your pet - with name, breed, date of birth, health history and vet information and any facts you would want someone else to know about your precious family member in the event something happens and you can't rehome your own pet. Update that information every year. No one ever expects to die with things not in order - but as you can see it happens - we owe it to our animals to not put them in this kind of a position. Put that documentation in an envelope and address it to the person who will be making decisions if you pass away so they can make sure your best friend isn't in this kind of a situation. Once we get her into the vet on 5/8/18 we will have more data after our vet can examine her. She is a tiny little thing at well less than 10 lbs.
