In the aftermath of losing our home in the 2015 North Fire, we found an abandoned dog in Lytle Creek. He was pitifully thin and looked like he had lost the will to live. He was a big dog so I was a little cautious about engaging with him. We were in our car so I rolled down the window and called to him. He came over very cautiously and when I could see that he was not displaying any threatening behavior I opened the door. He climbed into my lap and snuggled up to me! Our first thought was to get him something to eat, which we did and even though he was obviously staving, he accepted the food gently and slowly. Then we had the quandary of what to do with him. Even though we were homeless we took him back with us, thinking that a rescue would take him. Little did we know how unrealistic we were being! My sister in law lives close to us so she agreed to foster him and he has been there ever since. She is not able to keep him (long story). Please help us find his forever home!
