About Butters

Meet Butters!! Pit Bull Terrier Mix Approx. 2-4 yrs old Approx. 50 lbs. Butters arrived to IL from a high kill shelter in TN around Thanksgiving, where his family affectionately named him 'Butters' after their Butterball turkey! Before his arrival in IL, Butter's fate was not looking good. You see, Pit Bull Terriers are outlawed in the county in which he was residing, so had he not been rescued, he would have for sure been put to sleep. Butters had a rough start. We are almost certain he was a bait dog as he came to us battered and torn. We have worked hard to heal his wounds and mend his heart. He is still shy, but is quick to trust a gentle hand. He's been socialized with other dogs and does best with quiet, submissive and calm dogs. He has met children as young as 4 and is a perfect gentleman! Butters is a beautiful boy who loves to be with people! He loves to give kisses and cuddle. He has a great personality and just needs a patient family to show him that life is going to be great. He would enjoy being with a family who likes to go on walks and will be around to give him the attention he desires. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments.
