Brady could be that dream come true pup for retirees who enjoy spending their time with a scruffy and adorable guy who is so loving and engaging. There's no question that Brady would do really well with gentle, dog-loving older kids who enjoy the fun and snuggles that a sweet little dog brings to a family. We want to make certain that Brady is handled kindly and respectfully...he'll return that love and kindness a thousand times over with snuggles and sweetness. Brady likes playing once he's comfortable and is entertaining in his silly antics, young energy and the huge love he wants to show to everyone he knows (and loves) once comfortable in his situation. Brady's story is all too common in his close call to being euthanized in a scary Texas shelter....but who could ignore his cuteness, adorable manner and desire to bond with anyone who could be his best friend? We wonder if Brady is the victim of irresponsible breeding... for beauty with no regard to overall health and welfare. You can't tell in these photos, but Brady is a gorgeous physical example of the Lhasa Apso breed (with a bit of Poodle in the mix for intelligence and a fun-loving nature). We've requested new photos and will update as soon as we receive them. Brady is an extremely social and friendly guy...and if you weren't aware of his special needs, you wouldn't initially notice that he's blind and also has some hearing loss. Don't ever tell this engaging guy that he has limitations..he would never believe you. He can play and snuggle with the best of them. We get the sense as we observe Brady that he's acclimated extremely well to his disability. His other senses (touch and smell) appear to have sharpened and therefore guide him. He can negotiate a room very quickly..seeming to feel (or sense) walls and boundaries. Brady can be initially a bit shy..but give him a moment (a belly rub and yummy treats are helpful) and he inches a bit closer to a welcoming lap. Before you know it he's gently loving you with a soft kiss. The awesome Texas rescuers recognized all of this and knew that there was a wonderful home out there that would love, respect and make this little guy a permanent member of their dog-crazy family. At 5 - 5.5 years old and 15 lbs, Brady would do well with anyone who's invested in spending time with and truly loving their dog. He's so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure....it can be a leisurely walk, a visit with friends, a car ride, a vacation or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch. All of this would speak to Brady's sweet temperament. We aren't open to a home where all family members spend their days working full-time outside of the home....we'd like Brady to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle. Brady is a non-shedding guy with the striking golden-colored and cottony-soft hair that represents his breed mix. Brady will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement is a great choice for lifelong coat care and longevity). With this excellent care, Brady's coat will be very soft and shine with good health. Farfel's has requested that Brady be neutered prior to his arrival in Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this industrial area of Texas. If it doesn't, we'll be happy to cover all costs for Brady's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Brady will be arriving on transport on Tuesday 5/15/18. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this extremely sweet, loyal and fun-loving best friend, please fill out our application and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Brady, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
