About Cooper

Cooper is fostered in Lakeland, FL (Polk County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Cooper is a handsome Australian cattle dog mix of 45 lbs and 5 years. What's not to love about him? Cooper gets along great with everyone. He is playful and calm all together at the same time. He's good with other dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and is great with children of all ages. He is the best friend to his foster family's 3-year-old son. He loves car rides and rides to school with his kids every morning. He's very helpful in getting the other dogs in his foster home to come back in, as he will howl while his foster mom calls them in while they linger in the yard. He always comes when called and walks fabulously on a leash. He hasn't met a person yet that he doesn't greet with a smile and a tail wag, and Cooper does, in fact, smile. He loves belly rubs and just being your companion. Cooper was heartworm positive upon coming into rescue last June and has finished his treatment. He has an old injury in his left leg which healed on its own, and he will favor it occasionally but he never lets it stop him from playing. He is house trained and crate trained. He will occasionally mark if another male dog is in the house, but he takes correction on this very well and crating at night stops this. He really is an awesome dog in every way and the ultimate companion. He just wants to be your best friend. Cooper is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, and microchipped.
