About Percy

He's not French (as far as we know!) but this happy-go-lucky goof ball has a true Joei de Vivre! Percy is a house and crate trained 1 year old, 60 lb Lab/Boxer mix who is excited to enjoy his new life and will make YOU happy right along with him. This boy LOVES people and wants to be next to you, near you, and on you, as much as possible! His amazing Long Island foster mom Tara says, 'I bring Percy with me everywhere I go! At first he can be a bit shy, but he's such a smart boy, so as soon as he sees I trust someone, he does too. He goes to Doggie Day Camp and they say he's the best camper they have - he gets along with every other dog. With his personality, the trainer actually thinks he could be a service dog! Percy's everyday favorite things includes taking a scenic hike, stopping by for a quick swim (and maybe some seagull chasing) at the local beach, and on top of the list: A playdate with a canine friend! He's absolutely need a home with another fun and friendly pooch to romp around with him in a fully fenced yard. Percy lights up like a Christmas tree around kids, and he is more than happy to snuggle and play. He's still young, so kids need to be a bit dog savvy and understand that he can be mouthy when he gets super happy and excited. He'd do really well in a home where someone is home more often than not because he becomes very bonded with his humans. Not to mention that sitting crated all day long is not a lot of fun for any dog - let alone one who is so people oriented. He's a little embarrassed to admit it, but he's a bit scared of cats and not at all aggressive, so we think he'd be fine in a home with felines.
