About Darby

Darby is 10 years old, is lovable and deserves much more time and attention than I can provide for him given my new work life circumstances. I adopted Darby in December of 2017 with good intentions, but at this time my job will take me out of town too much for me to give him the quality time that he deserves. Darby is gentle, loves children and adults. He gets along well with all females that I have introduced but not so well with other male dogs. Darby loves to go for car rides, walks excellent on a leash and has been learning to walk along side the bicycle. On other days Darby is just a snuggler because he loves attention. Oh, and did I mention that he loves to be brushed? Darby has also been known to be a master escape artist and travels the neighborhood. Fortunately, good people found him before something bad happened. Darby also struggles with some minor anxiety issues when left at home alone, probably something from his childhood. He will not eat when I am gone and purposely knocks over his food and water bowls, and re-arranges the carpets by the door in his anticipation for someone to come back home, but that's not too big a deal. The behavior just helps in understanding that he struggles with being left alone. To adopt Darby I am asking for an initial meet and greet.
