Easley Lab/heeler mix 6 months Currently 35 lbs. Easley is a beautiful black lab with a unique sprinkling of salt and pepper on her chest. On the bashful side, she needs time to warm up to people. However, if you are patient enough, she will reward you with many kisses and tail wags. Easley enjoys going on walks and checking out her surroundings. She is well behaved on a leash and easy to manage in public. Don't be surprised by how often people stop to ask about petting your dog. While she tends to shy away from attention, she will happily wag her tail and sit nicely while kids and adults alike can delight in petting her velvety fur. She is a smart girl and already knows several commands, including 'sit' and 'down'. She also listens to corrective cues like 'no'. Like a typical lab, she is food driven which will be a great motivator for further training. Easley is mostly house broken and will go to the door when she needs to go outside. She sleeps in her foster's room on a pet bed and goes all night without any mishaps. Easley loves to chew. She will need plenty of toys to keep her busy. She especially loves tennis balls and bones. Due to her chewing, she has been put in a crate during the day if she needs to be left alone. She doesn't mind the crate at all and will contentedly lay on her pet bed until she is let out. In fact, Easley will seek out her crate on her own when she wants to take a break from the noise or attention. Easley enjoys being outside. She especially delights in sunbathing on the deck or keeping an eye on everything in the back yard. She gets along with other dogs and is happy to engage in playtime, no matter the size. Easley will be a great addition. She is gentle with others and eager to please. Yet, she is independent and knows how to keep herself busy.
