About Sammy

We are looking for a good home for Sammy. My mother passed away last year and her 88 yo husband passed away a few months later, and Sammy was left without parents. I have had Sammy for almost 7 months now. He is a good dog, very sweet, but needs to be with someone who can be with him a good amount of time to let him in and out of the house and or train him to be on a potty schedule. He was in and out of the house all day when he was with my mother and her husband, as they were both retired Sammy's entire life, and home with him almost 24/7. They bought him as a pup, and I have always known him to be a very sweet dog. I have put him through obedience training, so he stays 'place' very well on his cot and will not move unless you tell him 'free'. He is unbelievably sweet and loves to be in the same room with his people, but is fine staying in his own room while we are at work, having dinner, and overnight. . Sammy has been neutered, has all of his shots, has had training by my professional dog trainer, which cost me about $4500. I will want background (facebook or other) information on anyone interested as I promised my mother I would take care of Sammy and find him a good home. My spouse and I work full time and both own our own business, and we do not have the time or energy for 3 dogs, and that is the only reason Sammy is up for adoption, not because he isn't loved. If you would like an adult dog (5 yo) and have time to spend with him and be a good companion, he will be the same for you. I prefer that the family or person adopting not have any other dogs so that Sammy gets the attention he deserves.
