About Indian Ringneck

Adoption Fee: $75
Pet Bird
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Loco is a sweet 18 year old Indian Ringneck who I raised by hand. She was a therapy bird when she was younger: she is very gentle and has never bitten a person, but she has not been socialized the last few years, so she is skittish around new people. She warms up to people in a few days and is very lovey with them. She loves to be petted and will coo and crumble into a ball with delight. She talks and has a very clear voice. She gets bored easily, so she needs things to do or to chew on, and she likes Lots of attention. If she is left on her own or without something to do, she will yell for attention! She does well with dogs but has an inexplicable fear of stationary ladders. Loco LOVES her people, so she gets jealous of other birds and can bully them. She could do play periods with other birds if you're watching them but needs her own cage. Giving Loco away to a good home is incredibly hard for me, as we have been through so much together. However, I have struggled with significant health issues the last few years, and she has been confined to a cage with almost no attention. Because she doesn't get attention, she hollars a lot, so she's had to stay outside or in a room with the door closed. It breaks my heart to have her live that way, but I haven't had the ability to do anything more. I hope to find someone who is not a first-time bird owner and who really wants a companion and will play and interact with her every day. She deserves that life. The average lifespan of an Indian Ringneck is 25-30 years. Loco has always been healthy and acts just as young as she always has.
