Porter 1.5 Years Old Flashy Brindle Crate and House Trained Dog Friendly Cats Unknown Still Learning Obedience Fostered in Newburg, OR My name is Porter and I'm a 1 1/2 year old brindle colored boxer with a very short tail. I'm a little bit underweight, but my foster mom has been feeding me regularly and giving me treats, so I'm starting to gain some weight. I am shy and like to take my time when eating my meals. I'm just a big, goofy, lovable fur ball. My foster mom says, I'm like a bull in a china shop. I think that means she really likes me. I am learning to walk nicely on a leash. I haven't had a lot of socializing and am a little concerned by the new noises in the outside world. The big old yellow bus is really noisy. And the garbage truck too. Once, we get onto the side streets, I calm down. Even though I'm very cautious, I'm really getting good at nicely walking on a leash. I will need consistent security, practice, and training to feel comfortable and prefect my walks. I am learning sit; however, I'm not really motivated much by treats. Working for praises and loves is even better. I am learning to play with dog toys, especially ones that I can chew. I am house trained and have never had an accident or tried to mark in my foster home. My Foster home has a crate for me, and although I prefer to just hang out free in the house when my foster mom is gone, I'm still a puppy at heart and sometimes get into things, like the laundry. I don't normally chew things up, but I do like to relocate pieces throughout the house. Mom says, a crate is best for me until I learn my boundaries. I would like to go to a home where someone is home most of the day. Because I'm so big and playful, a home with older kids would be really nice. I like other dogs once I'm properly introduced and would love to have a fur brother and/or sister. I'm not sure about cats. When I see them while we are out walking, I'm usually too worried by all the noises to pay much attention, but they could be nice to play with too! I very comfortable inside my own back yard and I love watching the squirrels in the yard from inside the house. I am a young, quick learning, healthy doggie, who's looking for my forever family.
