About Molly

Sweet, sad Molly will break your heart. This gorgeous six year old English Staffie mix is a small, precious treasure. She arrived at ACL from a local animal control where she had been surrendered - Molly had been used as a breeding dog, and when she outlived her usefulness, her owners took her to the shelter. Molly is a heartbroken girl with the saddest eyes, but she's learning to love and play again day by day! Molly may seem shut down, but we have seen her make friends, jump around, and go nuts for cuddles from her special people. Every day since she's been with us has been better and better - if a gentle, kind family took a chance on her, we have no doubt she would blossom like a flower! Because of her history as a breeding dog, Molly would prefer to be the only dog in the house - she is understandably mistrustful of other dog. With time and a managed, slow introduction, we believe she can have canine friends at some point in the future. She doesn't seem to mind cats after an appropriate introduction. Molly would do best in a low-key, patient home with kids 5 and up who will give her all the love she needs to appreciate life again!
