Poppy Feist/Terrier mix Currently 5 months Current 22lbs Poppy is a beautiful and affectionate pup. She is very outgoing and enjoys being around people. Poppy especially loves to tag along with her family on outings. She is well behaved on a leash and easy to manage in public. Don't be surprised by how often people stop to ask about petting your dog. She delights in the attention and will happily sit and allow for the extra affection from others. Poppy is also content to sit in the car and is a great companion for car rides. She is a smart girl and already knows several commands. She comes when called, knows to sit, and will go down to the floor when asked. She also listens to corrective cues like 'no'. Poppy is already house broken and will go to the door when she needs to go outside. She has been left alone in the house for short periods of time without any mishaps. However, she has been in the crate a few times and can adjust. Poppy enjoys adventure and likes being outside. Not only does she enjoy walks around the neighborhood, but she can keep herself busy by exploring the yard or sunbathing on the deck. She enthusiastically greets people of all ages and is always ready to give them a wag and a kiss. Poppy gets along with other dogs and is happy to engage in playtime, no matter the size. Poppy has a high prey drive and would do best in a home that does not have small animals or birds. We are not sure how she would do with cats either. Poppy is the ideal dog to round out any family. She is a loving pup and will gladly cuddle with you in bed or on the couch. However, she will also be the first to jump in the car and go on an adventure. If you've been looking for the perfect dog, the search is over. Don't let Poppy be the one that got away!! Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
