About BALTO

Please welcome Balto, a 4-years old male Siberian Husky who is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Balto has a short to medium coat and weighs about 57 lbs. This spunky guy LOVES to play and would make a great companion for another playful and energetic dog (preferably females). Balto is hit-or-miss with males so a meet & greet with your dog(s) will be required. He needs some help remembering his manners and can be a little pushy with other dogs. It's only cuz he really wants to play! He could definitely be an only dog but he'd want a very outgoing and adventurous owner to help him exert his energy. Balto does amazing in the kennel in the car, as well as when crated inside and he's done well when left uncrated in the house for short periods of time too. He is housebroken, but please make allowances for a possible accident or two in a new home in the beginning. He walks well on leash with really no pulling at all. Once trust and a bond has been established he can be an off-leash husky but this will take some time to accomplish. We received viable information in regards to Balto and cats and can say that he needs to go to a home with none (NO EXCEPTIONS). He has been around young kids previously so we are okay with him in a home with small children. Please note that he is mouthy in a playful way, a nibbler you might say so keep that in mind with your kiddos. A home with a 6' fence minimum and a backyard for him to explore. Working from home, retired or home the majority of the time would be ideal as he does show signs of separation anxiety (he cries/whines) when separated from you or another dog. Husky experience is always a plus! Due to our home-check requirement, we adopt in Northern California and Northern Nevada only.
