Helena 13 lbs, Havanese mix 4 months old Poor sweet adorable Helena, ~look at that precious face. How does an angel like this end up with her story. Helena had no human contact before she entered the kill shelter in Korea as a baby. Yes, no human contact. So the wonderful Korean rescue got her out of the kill shelter to save her life - and to start it. In her foster home in Korea she slowly learned to trust humans, but did great with her other foster dog friends. She now loves to play with stuffed toys. She is slow to trust. Originally, if anyone went to pick her up she would run, but, after she was picked up she would love to be cuddled and given love. Helena is now a US citizen, is in a foster home, and is looking forward to being loved in her new home. We got her spayed by laser by our amazing vet. She is chipped, heart worm negative, dewormed, and up to date on her shots. Helena now loves attention and is very playful. That's why it's mandatory for her to have other playful doggy friends in the home. She is good with older children that are respectful to animals, she does fine with cats, and although a little shy at first, once she warms up to you she is good. She does get protective of her wet food only - not her dry - so that still needs work. We will only be accepting applications who meet all of the requirements for Helena. Helena is currently in a foster home, and it's time for this little lady to find her new forever home. She can only go to a home with other dogs present in the home, someone who will work with her on potty training, general training like all of her doggy friends. and who will love and cherish her. Someone also should be present in the home during the day. All of our rescues need patience and training work. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Helena, have read her listing fully to the end, and will go through our process of your references being checked, a phone interview, and a home visit followed with a meet and greet if it's a good fit with our discretion. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Helena has an adoption fee of $680. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. When submitting an application, Please be 100% certain that you are committed to completing the adoption process. This includes having all household members in agreement of the dog adoption and being prepared to complete the adoption once approved. We are committed to placing each dog in the very best home possible. As an all volunteer rescue we spend several hours vetting and approving each applicant and every minute spent working on applicants that are not prepared to complete the adoption takes us away from saving another dogs life. This truly is a life and death matter for these precious souls. Thank you for your understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Adoption Process All of our dogs are in foster homes, so please fill out an application on our website to meet them in person: www.aberdeenstr.com. Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a 501(c)3 recognized charity. Our volunteers dedicate all their free hours to finding the best loving home for each of our dogs.
