About Macy

Adoption Fee: $100
Lab / Border Collie
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Macy's story is a common one, barely out of her first year of life and already pregnant due to a failure to spay and then to prevent access by other dogs. But Macy is one of the lucky ones. She came into the safety of our shelter in January with her six nursing babies. All were provided with a warm environment against the winter cold, an abundance of food, as well as health care and much affection by staff and volunteers. All six puppies were carefully placed into safe and nurturing homes and will be spay/neutered at age 6 months, thus ending this cycle of overpopulated litters. Macy was spayed in March, fully vaccinated and tested negative for heartworms. She was a stellar mama and is now enjoying the freedom from parenting duties. Macy is a 1-1/2 year old lab mix with soft brown eyes and a gentle spirit. She enjoys the companionship of all sizes of people as well as the company of friendly dogs. We are seeking a home for Macy where she will be treasured as a forever family member and live in safety and comfort. A secure fenced yard already installed is required. Adoption fee is $100. Applications can be submitted online at our website: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application/ or at the shelter. All questions about our application and adoption procedures can be answered by going to our website, tab All Adoptable Animals. Adoption of all dogs/cats requires an approval process to ensure that they are going into a home suitable for their needs with the resources and commitment to provide for their care and safety. Each is placed with same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own furry family members. The process can take from 1 to 3 days. Approved adopter MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly heart worm prevention treatment. Resident animals are owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The shelter is not permitted by GA law to accept strays. The facility is usually operating at capacity with a list of animals approved for intake waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4. Closed Mondays Location: 4823 Helen Hwy. 75N, Sautee, GA 30571, Phone: 706-865-4135 Email: [email protected] Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/smithgallhumanesociety/ Sautee is located 3 miles from the Alpine town of Helen in the NE mountains of GA
