About Blue & Gold Macaw

Meet Gabby, a beautiful and delightful bird. She enjoys spending time with humans but does not necessarily want any hands on attention. Gabby enjoys simply being part of the family. She loves saying 'hello' and 'hi' to get you attention. Talking or making fun sounds is her way of playing with you. Gabby enjoys playing with toys and really likes tossing around her plastic rings. When she's not playing with her plastic rings, Gabby likes to shred boxes and paper. �'�� Gabby is a good eater and loves to play with her food. Foraging for seeds and nuts in a large shallow dish is a fun way for her to enjoy a snack. Some of Gabby's favorite foods are steamed carrots, steamed sweet potato, apples and oranges. She is cautious around strangers and it will take time for her to warm up to someone new. It took close to six months for Gabby and her foster mom to build trust. The wait is worth it and once you have her trust then she is the sweetest bird. �'�� Gabby is looking for a loving family with the patience to get to know her and earn her trust.
