About Pippin

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

A kindhearted vet refused to perform the 'convenience euthanasia' that Pippin's former owner was requesting when she said she just didn't want him anymore. The vet recognized that although Pippin is 14 years old, he is still in good health, happy, and ready to enjoy several more years of life. So New Rattitude was called in to give him that chance. Pippin is an amiable little 15-lb. fellow who is reliably house-trained, perfectly mannered, and friendly with people and other dogs. Yeah, his vision may be dimming a bit and his hearing is definitely diminished, but that doesn't stop him from trotting and even running joyfully around the yard to investigate interesting things and drive off intruding birds, and he thoroughly enjoys a walk around the neighborhood. His remaining teeth are nice and clean after his recent dental, and he sure does enjoy his treats. Some stiffness in the back legs makes him reluctant to jump up onto furniture, so he appreciates a soft bed on the floor--or multiple beds so that he can make his selection near you, wherever you are. Indoors he is usually very quiet, but when outside he may bark to alert you to activity going on next door or to let you know when he is ready to come in. Because Pippin can be startled by sudden expected touches, he is probably not a good choice for a family with young kids. But for a household looking for an affectionate, easy-to-care-for companion who isn't too needy or clingy, this calm, confident fellow will be a perfect match. Please check out more photos of him in his online album at http://www.imageevent.com/beales/fosters/pippin. ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING PIPPIN, please go to new Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
