About Joy

Adoption Fee: $300
Chihuahua / Dachshund
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Let Joy dazzle you with her sweet face and smile! Joy is estimated to be 1 (or less) years old. She is a Chi-Weenie who weighs 10 lbs. and is tan in color. A Chi-Weenie is a mix of Dachshund and Chihuahua - and they come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors! Joy came to Puppy Pals Rescue through a transport from a shelter out of state. Joy was extremely underweight at only 5 lbs. She loves to eat now and has doubled her weight to a normal range. Upon her arrival it was discovered that Joy had come in heat and PPR had to wait for 5-6 weeks until she could be spayed. She now has been spayed, had shots updated, had heartworm and fecal tests (results negative) and is micro-chipped. We are ready to start looking for her forever home. Joy can be timid at first; however, she's still a puppy. She is a 1 year old who is learning to become an adult. We don't believe she had toys or was spoiled at all before her coming to PPR. She is starting to play with toys, treats, and enjoys the other dogs here at her foster home. She enjoys going out in the fenced-in back yard and running with the other dogs. Due to her temperament, size, and age, PPR feels that she might be suited for a variety of home situations. She would be great with a family with children (if not too young) that wouldn't pull on her and would respect her space until she's adjusted into her new environment It might be better for her to have another dog in the home as a companion Due to her timid/shy side and considering she's yet a puppy - she might do well in a home with a single person who is willing to play and take walks. We prefer a fenced-in yard for Joy. Joy is still learning house-training and walking on a leash. She is smart and she is a determined dog. We have no doubt in her ability to learn and adjust well. She seems to ride well in a car. She loves to cuddle in the recliner with her foster dad and loves to be held. If you would love to share your life with a new companion who has lots of love to give'| Joy is your girl!
