About Blu

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Her name is Blu, but she is the happiest girl! Blu came to Fuzzy Pawz after finding herself overwhelmed at the shelter and in need of a minor surgery. Now that she has recovered, she is in excellent health and ready to find her forever home! Blu is small 7 year-old Chihuahua mix, but she is a bit 'thick.' She needs to lose several pounds to keep her active and healthy. Her foster mom has her on a fitness and nutrition plan, and she's already making great progress. Blu loves short walks and sniffing around the yard. And she is smart. She was skeptical of the doggy door, but figured it out in a matter of minutes. She also loves car rides and prefers edible chews over toys. Blu is excellent with other dogs. She hangs back and allows her foster brother to be the alpha even though he is half her size. She is a little too fond of cats and gets rather obsessed with them so would do best in a home with no kitties. Blu also does well with gentle human kiddos; she is just so sweet. Blu doesn't exhibit any behavioral problems and doesn't need a crate. She has free reign of her foster home and yard, but she opts to snooze in her bed most of the day. While Blu has good manners, she could definitely benefit from training on recall and basic commands. Blu is a lapdog at heart and loves to snuggle.
