IT was pure luck, or perhaps a divine intervention when a cat feeder in Chicago spotted this poor soul huddled in a back yard. I suppose anyone else passing by would not have recognized Timberly as a dog or any sort of living creature for that matter. When his rescuers were contacted he had been living in the back yard for who knows how long. He was in a matted shell of THREE POUNDS of hair and filth. Can you even imagine the soaring heat of summer, or the pounding rain and snow that soaked and even froze this horrible cocoon he was in. Thankfully that is behind him and his life has taken and incredible turn in the right direction. Timberly has been blessed with so many people that have stepped in to take him from that yard, groom him(no small task-it took hours we are told) as well as the vets who cared for him and even gave him a dental, and the kind people at the shelter that lovingly cared for him and helped him learn to accept love and attention. He still has a road ahead, and who can blame him. He has not experienced any sort of kindness in ages. So he is cautious about touches and will need a patient and understanding person that will let him take things slow, on his terms. With that said he can also be a happy, silly and playful boy. He gets sooooo excited zipping around the yard doing zoomies-freedom is a good thing! He LOVES to go for walks, the leash makes him so happy just to see it, he gets all wiggles! Timberly is totally housebroken and peaceful, quiet and gentlemanly. We want Timberly to have a family that will be with him most of the time, a retiree would be perfect. He has spent far to much time alone to waste one more second. We do not think he is ready for children in his life but he does great with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. Timberly is so ready for this journey and his happily ever after! He is guessed to be around 9 years old(??) about 14 pounds. We are asking an adoption fee/donation of $150 which will help other needy dogs in his honor.
