4yo chocolate standard. Sweet but anxious temperament. I got him from a family that did not have many expectations of him. as such, when I got him, he had few boundaries. (Jump on people, pull food off counters, climb on furniture and beds, get in the garbage) He is very insecure , but VERY smart and a quick learner. He has made dramatic improvements in the short time Ive been rehabbing him. He had very little socialization before coming to me, but is now starting to understand what it is to be a dog. He and my 1yo standard poodle play together consistently. This dog needs a family with dog experience and time to devote to him. He is very emotionally 'needy' but he's a good dog. He has an odd habit of showing his insecurity by dropping his head and repetitively licking ( the air). It can be annoying to some. He will behave better and be less anxious if he's in a home with consistency. He's a very mild, pleasant animal. I am his 3rd home so hopefully this next home will be his final home. He will wander if not watched, but will come when called. I'm on an acre with horses and he's been able to learn the property boundaries ( with constant reminding). He has not had any accidents in the house after the first couple of days (anxiety). he knows go potty and go poop and does so on command. He will scratch the door to go out. He knows sit, wait, come, down, treat, get your toy, go to bed. Get/go out. Stay here. I have 2 other standard poodles and they get along splendidly. Poodles require constant grooming. groomers here are $70 ( I groom my own, but that is not for everyone) I think he will make a wonderful family pet for a quiet family with lots of time and attention to devote to him. He has had surgery to stitch his stomach so that it can't 'flip'. Poodles are inside dogs and are part of the family. Not just pets. Please understand, I will only let him go to the home I feel he would thrive in.
