Max weighs about 90 lbs, and has a high prey drive. Too smart for his own good, is a bit of an escape artist and can have a mind of his own. Has never jumped a fence, but if he can find an opening, he will find a way through. He is neutered, chipped, up to date on shots, and has some training. He is currently at the Animal shelter in impound, for attacking a neighbors piglet. Besides the fine, they are demanding he not be allowed in Josephine County which gives me the options of 1)selling my house and moving to keep him or 2)rehoming him, or 3)having him euthanized. We adopted him as a 6 week old pup, he is now 6 years. Has never attacked livestock before this, but will assert dominance over other dogs, and will react if challenged. We also have a 10 year old senior shepherd that is Max's companion, also at impound. Max is generally good with people, but we use caution with our younger grandkids, he will chase anything that moves: birds, rabbits, skunks, balls, ...anything small that moves quickly, including kids.... although he has never bitten a human. We have appealed the County's decision and are waiting for a determination.
