About Margaret

FOSTER LOCATION: Star, ID Margaret found her way to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after winding up in a local shelter skinny, matted down to the skin and in really rough shape. Despite the condition in which she was found, Margaret is a friendly and affectionate girl. She is approximately 3 years old and appears to be a pure bred Persian; despite the fact that she is quite tiny. Margaret is the loveliest grumpy cat you will ever meet; from her gorgeous cream fur to her clear blue eyes, she is a true queen. Despite the frown on her face Margaret is a sweet, gentle natured cat. She loves to be held, petted, scratched and doted on and she deserves it! She will gaze deeply and affectionately into her foster momma's eyes and it is truly special. While Margaret tolerates the other animals in her foster home, she will likely do best in a home where she is the only cat. She loves to sit on her perch and observe, and especially enjoys sitting in a window sill and watching the birds outside. The best part of her day is the quiet time she gets with her foster mom. When Margaret is happy (which is often) she purr/grunts and snorts; it's sweet and charming - just like she is. Margaret will need a special forever home and she has some special care needs. Sadly Margaret was declawed and that has caused some major deformity to her feet causing her pain. She is quite finicky about litter and is now trained to use potty training pads and is in transition to paper litter. As is extremely common with cats that have been declawed Margaret stopped using the litter box due to the pain in her feet; clay and pellets caused her great pain. After much trial and error we have found that Margaret will use potty training pads placed directly on the floor (just like you do with a new puppy). She will require daily grooming (brushing and face wash) in order to maintain a healthy (mat free) coat and eyes. Margaret will need high quality food and does best with a flowing water bowl. Her coat is currently shaved but it will come back full, thick and luscious.
