Our wackadoo beauty, Bam Bam, may look like a golden boy, but he is Terrier through and through. Actually, there are Terriers, and then there is Bam Bam! Terrier folks know exactly what I mean, because there are no folks quite like Terrier folks! From Yorkie Lovers to Pittie Fanciers, their patience and appreciation of hyper-aberrant behavior goes beyond reason! Let's just say that Bam Bam is a miniscule force of nature. His antics at our house have been hilarious. He's here, he's there, he's everywhere, and everywhere he is, he's running his mouth. It's lucky that Bam Bam has a pleasant singing voice. He's oblivious to pack rules and makes himself welcome wherever he pleases. Our Min Pin Posse did not give him the thumbs up. However the push back wasn't as hard as it I expected it to be. And yet, Bam Bam will be the dream dog for an active single or couple with a grand sense of humor. He is friendly, playful and simply a laugh-a-minute. His ideal home will include another feisty, fun-loving, outgoing Terrier type, because just one of these dogs is never enough. Just two years old, Bam Bam was surrendered by lackluster owners. He was a big hit with shelter volunteers, but received mixed behavior evaluations. He certainly showed signs of being unsettled and afraid in the chaotic shelter system, so we invited him here to give him a chance to unwind and let his true colors shine. Bam Bam is a terrier mix, perhaps a cross of the Australian and Wheaten Terrier breeds. He is small dog at just 14 pounds. He has a wispy, wiry coat, in a caramel tan color. He doesn't appear to shed much, and has a lanky frame that looks like he could put on a pound or two. He's very well behaved and tolerates a lot of handling, so grooming should be a breeze. He receives great behavior evaluations during his Veterinary exam. Bam Bam has that one in a million temperament that makes him an ideal family dog. He could easily join a home with older kids, who are used to handling small dogs, or he could join the active lifestyle of a single, couple, or recent active retiree. He also does well with all dogs, bur might chase cats beyond their comfort level. Bam Bam loves attention and would gleefully accompany his his special person on vigorous daily walks followed by focus playtime. Bam Bam has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis parvo, parainfluenza and coronavirus), and canine flu. He has been boostered as needed. He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been dewormed, and microchipped.
