About Chevy

Adoption Fee: $295
Lab mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Chevy Hound/sheperd/lab mix 9 weeks 9 lbs Chevy came to us from Tennessee with his 4 other siblings, his mom, and grandma. He was lucky to be fostered with all of his other litter mates in the same house. Chevy is a handsome cuddlebug with an easy going personality. He is a little guy that just melts your heart when you see him. He is extremely friendly and enjoys being picked up by everyone and anyone. Content to stay in your arms for long periods of time, Chevy is the perfect snuggler. In fact, Chevy is a favorite with kids. He has been test driven by them in a variety of ways, and by that I mean, squished, poked, pulled, carted around, and more. He takes it all in stride. Chevy gets along with other dogs and will gladly engage in a wrestling or tugging match. Don't let his small size fool you because he can hold his own against the bigger dogs when he wants to. Like most dogs, he enjoys a good romp in the yard and spends a great deal of time chewing. He will need some toys of his own to keep him busy. He is crate trained and is content to stay in there while you are away. When it comes to nap time, he will plop himself down anywhere! Potty training is still a work in progress. He has learned to go to the back door when he hears 'outside', but has accidents occasionally. He needs to be let out frequently because he is a young puppy. Chevy has been test driven and passed with flying colors. He is ready to be driven off the lot. Are you ready to take him home today? Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
