About Mr. W

Adoption Fee: $200
Cairn mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Mr. W is a Cairn Terrier mix between 6 and 8 years old. He weighs 18 pounds and he's perfectly house trained. His back story prior to being found on the streets of northern Massachusetts is unknown Since coming into rescue a number of medical issues have been addressed. A vet examination indicated that Mr. W had stones in his bladder. After the surgery had removed 26 stones, we waited for signs that Mr. W was feeling better. Several weeks later, Mr. W was favoring one of his legs. We scheduled an orthopedic consult. The results indicated that Mr. W had a partial tear in his Anterior Cruciate Ligament. The recommendation was rest, limited use and pain management. He's no longer on pain medication and his leg injury has healed. Mr. W's ideal forever home would be with a very dog-savvy single person or couple who has experience with reactive dogs and leads a quiet life. Going for a walk is the high point of his day. Mr. W has shared his space with other dogs and can peacefully coexist with other canines. However, this boy could benefit from being an only. For unknown reasons, he can't tolerate his rear end being touched and he will react. He craves affection but he is insecure. His adopter should allow Mr. W time to settle in, develop trust and accept that Mr. W will be a 'work in progress'. Mr. W loves his foster mom but she understands that Mr. W is a grumpy middle-aged man and accepts him for who he is. If you have room in your heart and home to let this little guy in, please let us know and we will arrange an introduction.
