Dodge, a verb meaning to avoid someone or something by a quick or sudden movement. Synonyms include: leap, spring and jump. Dodge is also the name of an American made car company. This American Dodge isn't avoiding anything, but when he's at play he's been known to leap, spring and jump (for joy). Dodge is a 43lb one year-old male American Staffordshire terrier mix. He is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Dodge is house-trained and crate-trained. He is nearly proficient walking on leash with the aid of a Martingale collar. He is affectionate, joyful, and well-behaved. He knows, Sit and is working on Down and Stay. Dodge is good with other dogs. And, he loves getting to play with them four-days a week at doggie daycare. All that playtime is a great way to expend Dodge's puppy-like energy-he's been sleeping very well, as a result. Dodge enjoys playing with tennis balls when he's at home, and is getting better at understanding the nuances of which household items are not-okay to nibble. He is okay around small dogs and cats after slow and supervised introductions. However, he occasionally tries to chase the cat when he's bored. When Dodge has to be home alone, he stays in a crate. He goes right in with a special Kong toy. Dodge can be vocal when he communicates with both humans and canines . . . and other times, he doesn't say a peep. Dodge is very smart and loves to cuddle. He thrives on a regular schedule of exercise/play mixed with quiet-time with lots of snuggles. He's just happy to be part of his person's routine, whether that be going for a jog or binging on Netflix. Dodge also rides well . . . so when it's time to 'get out of Dodge,' be sure to take Dodge with you!
