About Serenity

Rat Terrier
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

We are located 5 hrs west of VA Beach. You are welcome to drive to us or we can deliver or meet half way for just the cost of gas. Serenity was born around Oct 2017. She is a rat terrier. She should mature no more than 10 pounds. She has had a really rough life of neglect. She appears to have had a pretty bad injury to where the top of her head was cut. It literally looks like her scalp was peeled back. She has a pretty bad scar. From what I gather by how the scar looks she never got vet attention for it. She is fully healed and she has not lasting issues due to the injury. We ended up with Serenity after a daughter of one of our volunteers heard a classmate at her elementary school talking about the dog. She said that her mom was going to just dump the dog out on the side of the road if no one wanted her. My little friend told her classmate that her Mom could help. Our volunteer called the other mother to tell her we would take Serenity. The lady informed our volunteer that she was glad she called because she had thought about actually drowning the little dog to get rid of her.Our volunteer rushed to pick her up. The former owner has been reported to the appropriate authorities. Serenity is a delightful little bundle of joy. She is a tad submissive but she comes out of her shell super fast. She is GREAT with our other dogs and she is great with cats. She is great with humans considering the awful treatment she received from her former owners. She is almost completly potty trained. She would make someone a nice little snuggle buddy to cozy up to on the couch or bed. She is not overly hyper and she is not overly yappy! She will go to her new home current on vaccines, deworming, on heartworm preventive, spayed and microchipped. If adopted out of state she will receive a certificate of health prior to going home. The adopter will get all her vet records with adoption. We require a pre screen application to apply. You can get that on the main website at
