Just in time for spring training, meet Kellie. Kellie is a 45lb 2 year-old female Pit Bull mix. She is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped and housetrained. Kellie is a free-agent. She is looking for a position in a reputable league. She can play any position except for pitcher. That's where you come in. You throw as many balls as you can as many times as you can, and Kellie will catch them or chase them down for you-she will even return them to be thrown, again. Kellie is super smart, well-behaved, quick to learn and eager to please. She knows, Sit and Wait, and is learning Down and Come. Kellie is asked to Sit and Wait, before: meals, exiting the crate and passing through (in/out) doorways. This simple training not only encourages good house manners and rewards desired behaviors, but is also a good outlet for Kellie's energy, as it requires focus and control for mastery. Kellie wears a training collar for long walks to help calm her when she sees other dogs. Kellie is much more energetic than the older dog in her foster home, so their interactions are monitored and minimal. With proper slow introductions, Kellie could live with another dog whose energy compliments hers. But, she would probably prefer to be the only canine on your team-that way she could enjoy all the toys, antlers and all the attention. Kellie is affectionate, joyful, playful, and LOVES people-including the older children in her foster home. Kellie shows some initial anxiety as her people leave the house, whining and pacing. She is crated when left alone and will complain, but then settle down. She should be allowed a period of time (a week at least) to adjust to her new home. With a little time, she will trust that you will return to her after you leave. Kellie is very sweet and if you give her attention, her happiness shows with whole body wiggles and lots of lick-kisses! Whether playing second-base or left field, Kellie just wants to be in the game and on your team.
