About CHAMP

CHAMP is the sweetest 5-6 -year-old German Shepherd/Rottweiler-mix male, weighing 60 Ibs. This awesome boy is a dream to walk - he stays right by your side and doesn't even pay attention to dogs passing by him. He can be a little shy when meeting new people , but warms up pretty quickly and starts smiling and wagging his tail. Champ is a very calm dog, so he loves to chill and hang out in the house or lay on a dog bed. Another one of his favorite things is going on car rides - and he always is a perfect passenger. Grooming time? This boy handles it like a pro! He enjoys his spa appointment and all the attention that comes with it. When it comes to 'academics', Champ shines again, as he knows all his basic commands: 'Sit', 'Down', 'Come', 'Crate'. He is crate-trained, so if you give him the 'Crate' command he goes right in. Champ's house manners are impeccable: he knows how to use a doggie door and is housebroken. He gets super excited to see you each time you come home, as if he hasn't seen you in years, so talk about a top-notch welcoming committee of one��%BD'��%BD| Champ is wonderful with cats; in fact, he has been in a foster home with a cat, and they became best friends, sleeping together, eating together, and even going in the crate together. He and the cat hang out like best buddies. As far as his interactions with other dogs are concerned, Champ is good with them but he never plays with them. There are 3 other dogs in his foster home, and he has never shown aggression but seems a little nervous around small dogs, so we prefer a home with one calm, large-size dog or no dogs, but cats are always welcome! As you can see, this gem of a boy truly deserves his name, and he is ready to join the forever home that will cherish him as he deserves.
