Vinny was dumped on the streets of Manhatten NY, completely matted (I have a picture to share with his new family) and a large mass on his butt and his anal gland rupture on the other side. Vinny had the worst start to life a dog could have. Uncared for, unloved, and dumped on the streets by himself, sick and scared. A good person picked him up off the streets and brought him home for the night. The next day she had no choice but to drop him off at the High Kill Shelter in Manhattan. She wanted to keep him but knew she could not afford the medical that he needed. Shonio's Safe Haven, Inc took one look at him and said now that sweet guy deserves a break and a good life. So the minute we saw him we asked if he could come to our rescue and here we are. We had Vinny's mass removed and a biopsy performed. The mass is called Hepatoid Gland Tumor which occurs mostly in unaltered males. It was cancer however the reoccurrence is now slim, he has been neutered and the surgery came back with a clean cut meaning they removed the whole tumor and nothing was left behind. The anal gland that ruptured is now healed. Vinny is such a sweet guy he loves to play and be brushed although he is good at distracting you from the brushing with a good old fashion play. He is house trained as long as you keep on top of taking him out. He is also pee pad trained so if you have to go to work no problem just place a pee pad down and he never misses. Vinny is ready to give a special someone alot of love and a fun time. Is that you? Please contact the rescue to complete an application and there will be a home check and the adopter must be within 4 to 5 hours one way drive time from Vermont. Thank you for reading Vinny's story and we look forward to speaking with you.
