About Luke

Luke is an 8 month old Walker hound, Approx. 45-50 pounds. He is a cell dog trained by NC Division of Prisons' 'A New Leash on Life' program, an intense obedience training course. A few words on Luke from his trainer: 'Commands he recognizes:�%A0 Sit, Down, Stay, Come.�%A0 He obeys the command 'Leave It' for anything he sees you drop. Once made aware of items that are yours he won't bother them. Walks well on loose leash. Tricks:�%A0 Shake hands, High 5, Beg, Catching food thrown to him from up to 10 ft. away Luke likes to give kisses and loves to be squeezed and hugged; he's a full-blooded hunting hound, you won't find a more loyal breed. Feed him a good brand of dog food and dog treats.�%A0 Feed him people food and he won't eat the dog food. He chews, his cutting teeth are coming in so he needs rawhide bones to chew, large ones.�%A0 If he chews or eats something his stomach can't digest he may stop eating a couple days till he vomits it out. Luke is a beautiful puppy who loves to lay with you and he held.�%A0 He hides his eyes in your arms to sleep. Will be good around kids of any age.�%A0 He's really beginning to love people, a great dog. Negatives:�%A0 Introduce slowly to adult females, but he's getting over that.�%A0 Doesn't like cats ' �%A0
