Max is a handsome red tri male that is approximately 14 months old and weighs about 45 pounds. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, on monthly preventatives for heartworm, fleas, and ticks and is microchipped. Max is house trained and will whine or go to the door to go potty outside. He loves any human he meets including children. However, he is still a young boy himself and occasionally jumps so he may do best with children 8 years and older. . Max is working very hard with walking on a leash like a gentleman and he enjoys training sessions for basic commands. He loves car rides and rides in the backseat with a dog seat belt without any issues. Max does not have any cats in his foster home so it is unknown how he would do in a home with cats. It was reported that in the past he may have been selective with other dogs, however, this has not been a current issue. Max loves his foster fur sister who is just a few months older than him. They can get pretty rough and rowdy with their play, but settle down with redirection from their human. He also has made many friends at doggie daycare. Max is not fond of being in a crate and he does have separation anxiety. He is making progress and can tolerate being in his crate for 1 hour while his foster mom is at home with him. However, he does not tolerate being in his crate when his foster mom leaves, which is why he attends doggie daycare. He loves doggie day care and is always excited to be there. He does at times herd some of his friends, but will stop when asked. Max is searching for his forever home. He needs a home with a strong and patient pack leader. Max desires a home that will provide him with a structured routine. His perfect forever family would include humans who are home more often than away. He would love to find a home in which his human works from home or a human that is able to take him to work or willing to send him to doggie daycare. He will need a home that is willing to continue working on basic obedience training as well as crate training. He has a strong desire to please his human. He is a very smart boy who catches on quickly. Max makes great eye contact and would love to find an active home that would take him for walks and play fetch. His daycare leader said that with time and training he would likely excel in obedience or agility. Max's foster mom says, not only is he handsome, but he is silly, sweet and snuggly. This playful guy has so much potential. With time, training, patience, and love he will become a wonderful addition to a very lucky home.
