About Sam - I Am

Sam #18030 is an young Staffordshire Terrier who was an owner surrender because he and the resident English Bulldog just couldn't make it work. Owner was very sad to give him up and wrote the following bio on him. Sam weighs 55 pounds. He seems young - maybe a year or so? Super sweet. His tail is constantly wagging! House trained. Kennel trained - does great in the kennel while I am at work. Loves to play tug a war, fetch and chew on his antler. He was always super excited when I bought him new toys. He does tend to jump on you when he is excited, we were working on trying to stop that. In the evenings he would curl up next to one of us on the couch and lay his head in our lap. Loves tummy rubs, having his sides & tail scratched. He took turns sleeping with my kids - ages 13 & 15. He would lay along side of them or curl up at the foot of the bed. Did well with my 8 year old neighbor. On a regular basis I would put my hands in his food while he was eating to make sure he had no issues and he was excellent. Also would let me take his chew toys, bones & antlers without a problem. Extremely gentle taking small treats from hands - loves biscuits, apple slices, carrots and frozen green bean treats. I was working on his manners while walking on a leash - he tends to pull at the beginning of the walk because he's super excited but settles down - walks several miles and still wants to keep going. Practicing sitting, does ok considering he didn't do it at first. Loves car rides! I do not have a cat so I cannot say how he is with them. Sam is neutered, vaccinated and heartworm negative.
