I'm Fonzie and I'm here at the shelter with my brother from another mother, Chachi. We are both males and weigh about 8lbs. We are between 2-4 years old. Unlike our namesakes, we are a bit shy at first, but it doesn't take long for us to warm up. Just give us a minute and we'll probably wiggle into your lap, if you let us! We came into the shelter as strays, so not much is known about our background. But I am sure I am your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!. We can only give a guess about breed- . Available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter, 1420 Brookside Blvd. 1.5 miles off I-5. in Merlin. It is always nice if you send an inquiry about a specific adoptable guest via email to tell us about you, your family and other pets, your yard, and most importantly, your expectations of your new family member so we can answer your questions appropriately as best as possible. Please, if you email an inquiry, please understand that these animals are in the shelter for a variety of reasons: Their lives are upside down maybe because owner died, they got lost, were abandoned, owner lost home or had a life event that left their pet in need of a new home. We don't always know how they will get along with all dogs, all children. Some won't be a perfect family member right away! They will need love, patience, a strong owner who will let them know what is expected of them and what they can expect from their new family. It may take an afternoon or it may take a week or so! But they need homes and families who will bring them back to knowing what family is! Puppies: Please understand they are puppies; not potty trained; not good or bad with kids, dogs, cats. They are pliable puppies ready for you to imprint good manners, social skills, and training. You are encouraged to follow up with training after they are finished with shot series and or at the direction of your veterinarian. A happy healthy well socialized puppy is a happy family! You may be asked to make a refundable deposit for spay/neutering. Inquire at the Shelter. General Adoption Fees for Dog: Adult dogs and puppies- $125, Senior dogs 7 and over $50. Veterans are half price / $62.50 with presentation of government issued VA ID. For Josephine County fee includes first year licensing. Please visit the shelter or if need special arrangements for meet and greet please email me. If you have a dog- encourage you to bring also. Staff may be unable to answer calls right away, so you may contact me via email if you cannot get to shelter right away! You are encouraged to make your best effort to go during normal business hours. Note: Often times we are asked 'what about cats'?' Please be advised that we cannot guarantee a dog's behavior with a cat; sometimes the dog is fine with a cat- but cat not so happy about his canine intruder! If we know emphatically that a dog could take issue with a cat, livestock or chickens- will be stated in body of biography!
