About Mickey

Mickey is a sweet 8 lb, 8 year old Chihuahua mix. He came to us from a high kill shelter. After being in the shelter for 2 months he was put on the euthanasia list. When he was first brought to the shelter he was very afraid. Since taking him into the rescue and he has gotten to feel comfortable with us he has started to come out of his shell. However he will need very gentle encouragement, patience and care to gain his confidence as it is very obvious that he had been badly abused. Mickey is very willing to learn and wants to please. Mickey is interested in cats but doesn't chase and he gets along with other dogs quite well. It takes a little time for him to bond with a person but is very loving once he knows the person. It is all about him feeling safe. He is a real curl up in your lap dog. In the beginning you may have to take quiet baby steps with him as his foster mom did. They now adore each other as is the case with all of us as we have gotten to know him. Mickey will make a great companion for a gentle and caring guardian.
