Little Tyler is another great little poster child for what should never happen to a dog, especially one this small. He has a great personality and is very playful in spite of his injury.. He was at a municipal shelter in California on the list of those who will not make it unless a caring group like TRACS steps up to take him. He had been hit by a car we think and had enough damage that the owners did not come and get him or never found him, hard to say. But he has a dislocation of his femoral head from the socket and a very slight fracture of the pelvis bone. The femoral head looks really good and if this would have been caught and treated right away, he could have had the bone put back where it should be in the socket. As it is now, the bone is doing fine where it is and is stable, so placing it back will do more harm than good. The vet suggests we go ahead and adopt him out to a nice caring home where he can get some well deserved TLC and become a normal dog again. He likely will never have trouble with the hip, but if it does happen that he has trouble, TRACS will pay for the surgery to correct the problem. If you have a quiet and caring household and would like to help out this very cute little 1 year old terrier boy, do let us know. His $250 adoption fee will include the price of his surgery if that does have to be done in the future. Xrays are available to review with interested adopters.
