We are retiring and relocating overseas in a few months and it breaks our hearts to have to give her up. We got Sookie from 'Rescue me' about 3 years ago. She was rescued from a kill shelter in California by the good folks at Rescue Me. At the time, Sookie was being called Susie, so we chose a similar sounding name. Sookie had no nurturing and was extremely timid. She has come out of her shell to a degree and she is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. You could say she is a bit needy - she is making up for neglect and the lack of loving she experienced prior to ending up in a kill shelter. The improvement has been gradual. Sookie needs and deserves another loving home to bring her further out of her shell. She loves cuddling with us on the sofa watching TV. She has been good with both male and female dogs. We don't know about cats. It was 2 years before we heard her bark. If interested in Sookie, we'll be happy to share the finer details.
