Meet Lexie. Lexie will be 8 in June. She has been with us since she was 5 months old. She is extremely independent, very quiet, and a very good companion. She is in great health other than she has arthritis in her left knee. She has luxating patella (knee pops out of socket) but the orthopedic surgeon said he would not perform the surgery on her because she would end up having arthritis anyway. (as most dogs do once they get up there in age) She can still walk fine, go up and down stairs. Once in awhile you can see she may be struggling a little bit, so we have metacam on hand. One dose and she is good. Do not be afraid of this, it's not as bad as it sounds. You are probably wondering why I am homing her. I rescue, and since I started doing that, she gets very nervous when I bring a new dog home to rehabilitate from the shelter(s). I don't think it's fair to put this kind of stress on her, she deserves better. Lexie would be great for a young senior couple that wants a small dog for companionship. A small yard would be perfect for her to go do her business and come back in. She loves to go on short walks. She really is a precious little girl. I will not home her unless I know she will be going to a home better than the one she is living in now. I want her in a mellow environment with someone who will just give her all of their love. She has not been around children so they scare her a little. Older children are good, but again, if there is a lot of stimulation, she will shy away. PS: She is crate trained but we don't keep her in it with the door closed. Sometimes she just likes to go in there and sleep. You will be asked a series of questions, a meet and greet and a home check. This is not a 'sale' thank you for looking.
