We thought this guy had found the happiest home early last fall after coming into our program. Thanks to his microchip and our work through Lost and Found Pets of Greater Lafayette, we immediately recognized him, when he turned up as a stray in a nearby county. Who wouldn't recognize such a happy, handsome face? We quickly put the puzzle pieces together and found out that his owner had recently passed away. Clearly his fill-in caregivers allowed him to get loose and he was never claimed by them. We are now looking for a happy home to help him mend his temporary broken heart. Gino (formerly known as Grover) is about a one year old mixed breed boy. He is always gentle and happy. He takes treats easily, loves to give kisses and enjoys any and all children. He greets strangers with a smile and is quiet, easy going and laid back in the home. He is crate trained and house trained. He is very medium sized and overall has naturally very good manners for a dog that has been worked with very little in his short life. He is a quick learner and would be a great companion jogging, hiking, and camping. He is a very good car rider. Gino also does well around certain dogs and does not seem to care for others. We would recommend a meet and greet with any potential canines in his home. He would do just as well as an only dog. We are unsure how Gino does with cats. Gino is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. If you feel Gino may be a good addition to your household or you are willing to foster until he can find his forever home, please send us a message and complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is only $75.
