About Apple-ADOPTION PENDING

Lab / Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Whenever a sweet Labrador Retriever mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of this breed are generally very loving and intelligent. They also fit well into a family.. making great companions and the ultimate loyal and loving dog. Sometimes rescue dogs are initially a bit shy....but put them in a home with a loving family and frequent socialization...and they will shine. Apple is just about 2.5 years old (such a great age - young enough to be fun, active and adventurous while being mature enough to understand her adult skills). Apple weighs 40 lbs..a perfect size for hiking and outdoor fun... and then Apple will gently warm your couch and bed (at your side to express her love and sweetness). Apple's great Texas foster mom sent the following report about sweet Apple: I was the lucky one that fostered Apple prior to her journey to Colorado. Let me start off by saying she is a doll! She is such a loving and sweet cuddle bug! Apple was gentle and kind after she had a few days to get over her anxiety left over from suddenly being homeless. She was excellent with my 2 daughters who are 12 and 14. I have 3 friendly personal dogs and Apple did great with them as well. Apple had been a service dog to a woman who passed away. Sadly there were no next of kin so poor Apple was suddenly at a high-kill shelter. A dog like Apple just doesn't belong at a shelter...she's an amazing spirit and I'm told that she was incredibly loyal to her person. What really stands out is that Apple is super, super sweet! She slept in our bed and had no issues at all. She actually slept like a log all night!. I will cry like a baby when I drop her off for transport to Colorado but know that she will be in great hands with Farfel's! Apple has inherited the very friendly and easygoing personality of the Labrador Retriever along with the super-intelligence of the Cattle Dog. She is therefore very open for her family to teach her the wonders of her world. If Apple continues her training with positive reinforcement, given tons of love, socialization with both humans of all ages and other dogs...she will continue to grow into a self-confident dog who will always be a wonderful companion. She has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a desire to please. We'd like to place Apple in a home with either active retirees or a younger family who loves spending lots of time with a fuzzy and devoted family member. Apple will absolutely love hiking the trails of Colorado (she's the perfect size to enjoy the mountains), window-shopping on Pearl Street to fine-tune her urban skills and being a very present companion all through the day. With feelings of security within the family, Apple will learn the skills of being alone and knowing her family will always return. We've requested that Apple be spayed prior to her arrival in Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for her spay and microchip if our Denver vet is used. . Apple will be arriving on transport in Denver on Friday 3/9/17. Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to [email protected] or fax to 303-443-7730. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Apple, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
