Remy is a beautiful Siberian cat. He will be 4 in May. He is very social and extremely curious and confident. He never hides when people come over. In fact, he usually greets people at the door! He is an indoor cat, but he does like to try to get outside. When he does sneak out, he doesn't know what to do so he's always right by the house hiding under a bush. This has never been a big issue. Unfortunately, Remy has been living with a dog, a Wheaten Terrier, his whole life. For the first two years they coexisted peacefully, but something changed and my dog constantly chases Remy now. Apparently Remy doesn't fight back hard enough when caught by my dog bc this behavior keeps happening. I thought that with his nails a really good scratch would do the job. I have tried all manner of training to get my dog to stop, but have been largely unsuccessful (he is a terrier after all, bred to chase after small animals). I think Remy is living in our house with constant stress. While he does not hide, he seems to be always on high alert looking around corners for the dog when he's on his way to the litterbox or a favorite nap spot. I feel badly for him. This is not a way to live. I think Remy would be happier in a home without a dog and with owners who are largely present (perhaps a retired person?). He craves human attention and the number of people in my house has dwindled down to 1 with kids off in college and I am not even around a lot. I'd like Remy to live a stress-free life and be able to be relaxed in his own home. Thanks for considering him. There's no way to indicate in the drop-down menus below that Remy is living with me so I'm just going to choose 'someone else has this animal,' but the contact info given is for me. Please feel free to contact me any time.
