In rescue after a while you begin to understand that strength truly has nothing to do with size, in fact strength has a lot to do with endurance and most of all, heart. And the strength of any mother is measured by her heart and especially the love she holds for her babies. This truly heartbreaking story takes place in TJ Mexico and is one of a mama pup who was thrown out by her owners to fend for herself and her puppies. Abandoned and alone in the desolate and bleak stretch of land there was no food around them, no water to hydrate and it was here that she grieved over the loss of life of one of her babies. Left to grieve for more than enough days, the mama pup made sure to never leave her little one's side. No matter how much time had passed, as was evident in the tiny decaying corpse beside her--she would not leave his side. The sadness she experienced didn't stop her from protecting him either, she would even carry his tiny body in her mouth when moving around the area. Seeing a picture of her in complete devastation over her little one is enough to make anyone have a heavy heart. We wanted not another moment to pass in which this loving mama pup had to keep reliving the same anguish and depression over and over again. She had one pup left from the previous litter and we were determined to save them both and bring them safely to our rescue so we could make sure they would, from this moment forward keep on living for themselves and each other.
